Addison Agen’s new album should be completed by June 1 and will contain six original songs by the Fort Wayne native and cover performances of four songs by other artists, including one by Addison favorite Brandi Carlile, a news release said.
The news release from outside public relations firm Hummingbird Media touts the quality of the recording studio service Addison, 17, is receiving at Sweetwater Studios, a part of the Sweetwater national music equipment and services company based in Fort Wayne.
Addison, who will perform a benefit concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at C2G Music Hall in Fort Wayne, finished runner-up last season on the NBC vocal talent show “The Voice.” She is in the process of pursuing music as a full-time career, and Sweetwater Studios offered to help her record her new album.
Addison’s music has been described as Folk Americana, but songs she sang on “The Voice” brought out a pop element in her work, Mark Hornsby, Sweetwater Studios’ vice president of operations and senior producer and engineer, said in the news release.
Addison also appeals to a broad age range of people, Hornsby said.
So the Sweetwater Studios staff included some pop elements in the recording of Addison’s album to give it broader appeal as a Pop Americana release, Hornsby said in the news release.
