Addison Agen talks about life after The Voice
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Addison Agen has been laying down vocals and music tracks for the past several days at Sweetwater Studios. It is all in preparation for the release of her first album since appearing on The Voice. Agen expects ten songs will be released on the album. Four of them were written by Nashville artists. But the bulk of the album will come from Agen. Over the last year and a half she has penned six tunes that will make the album.
All of the songs are about moments in Addison’s life that had a big impact on her. From getting selected to compete on The Voice, to dealing with a dear friend moving to Colorado. The currently unnamed album is expected to be released in the Spring.
Addison says credits her family, friends and faith with her success, but also relies on them to keep her grounded. At just 16 years old, there is still much to be learned and experienced. But she said she doesn’t intend to leave her hometown of Fort Wayne. Addison told Newschannel 15 that she loves Fort Wayne. Everything she needs or wants is here, she said. That’s one of the reasons she chose to work on her album at Sweetwater.
For the last two weeks, Addison Agen has been quietly going into Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne to work on the album. During that time, Agen and Sweetwater producers Mark Hornsby and Phil Naish have been arranging, preparing and rewriting her songs in preparation for the full band to come together. Monday, the full band began work laying down tracks for the upcoming album.
The band, all of which work at Sweetwater, is unusual in this day and age. They all have worked, played or produced for some of the biggest names in the industry. Usually individuals would be contracted to play on an album, but at Sweetwater Studios they’re all under one roof. Producers at Sweetwater say it is just one of the advantages the studio offers to musicians and talent looking to cut an album.
